Online trading facility, Insurantz.com, launched.

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has launched the UK arm of Insurantz.com, a online platform for SME and micro-businesses, with capacity provided by Brit.

Insurantz.com, which allows businesses to obtain quotes and cover without the use of a call-centre, provides products for shops, offices, restaurants, surgeries, tradesmen, professionals and consultants and homeworkers.

JLT said that further products including motor fleet, professional indemnity, directors and officers, beauty and therapy and property insurance policies will be added in the coming weeks.

Insurantz.com is part of JLT|Online, a division of JLT which resulted from the acquisition by JLT of Pavilion, a niche specialist insurance business focused on commoditised web delivery of insurance products.

Peter Burrows, CEO of Brit UK said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Insurantz.com to provide the capacity for this product. As a business committed to E-Trading, the venture with JLT|Online has given us access to a partner with considerable capabilities and experience in online trading. Together we believe we have delivered a new and better approach to tap into the micro-SME business customer market.”

Adrian Girling of JLT added: “We have commissioned a significant amount of research into the UK market and JLT|Online's E-Trading platform has delivered a simplified approach to buying a wide range of business insurance products in a 24/7 environment.

We have worked closely with Brit Insurance in other areas of our business and are delighted to take our co-operation further into this exciting new area which is the first phase of a planned international roll out.”
