Troubled insurer fails to win assets from Greenberg’s Starr

Manhattan Judge Jed Rakoff has confirmed the jury verdict against AIG in its legal battle with former boss Maurice “hank” Greenberg’s Starr International, Reuters reports.

“AIG has failed to prove SICO's liability on AIG's counterclaim for breach of an express trust,” the judge said.

Greenberg and Starr's lawyer, David Boies of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, said: "This dismisses AIG's only remaining claim against Starr International. Another federal judge had already dismissed AIG's other claims in June 2008."
