A £300m dispute between Lloyd's and Swiss Re relating to unpaid claims on its central fund reinsurance policy went to arbitration last week.

Last year, Lloyd's claims it had been paid £134m in claims under the policy, but that around £300m was being disputed by Swiss Re and five other reinsurers.

Swiss Re argued that the Lloyd's claims were submitted to protect members' solvency and to fund liquidity requirements, particularly in the US. The arbitration is ongoing.
