Former Marsh client management head to drive growth in region

Lockton’s Corporate Risk Solutions division has opened an office in Leeds, and appointed Mark Evans as Partner. In a statement the broker said the office would meet clients’ transactional insurance and risk management needs in the North.

Evans will also co-ordinate a new business strategy to increase the number of corporate and major client accounts in the region. The broker already has offices in Manchester and Newcastle. He will report to CRS Executive Chairman, Chris Brown.

He will be supported by a team of associates with extensive experience in client service, recruited recently from major international broking houses.

Evans joins from Marsh where he spent six years, predominantly in Leeds. Most recently holding a regional role heading Marsh’s major account & client management practices overseeing six offices across the North of England and Scotland. Previously, Evans served for 10 years in Leeds with Willis.

Other recently recruited employees in the new Lockton Leeds team include Phil Kay, Senior Account Executive, and Annette Appleby, Senior Account Handler, with 31 years experience at Marsh predominantly in the corporate and major account fields.

Brown said: “Mark has considerable experience of working at a high level in his previous insurance and risk management roles in the region. His appointment is testament to our growing reputation for recruiting the best talent and experience in the insurance broking sector. He will be a valuable addition to the Northern team as we look to work with our larger clients to improve their strategic insurance and risk management programmes.”
