The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries, (AMII) has welcomed the insurers move to make medical insurance clearer to consumers.
The AMII applauded the inclusion of clear warnings on application forms about the likely consequences of failing to disclose pre-existing medical conditions and explaining what treatment will be covered for different illnesses, including cancer.
Stephen Walker, AMII chairman said, “Non-disclosure of pre-existing conditions and not understanding what is really covered and what is not covered ie the exclusions are the two biggest reasons why some claims get declined.
“Greater understanding and awareness has to be good for both the consumer and the industry.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
