Insurance Times rounds up the biggest stories of this week

This week saw Members of the Unite union in England reject the latest NHS pay offer and BBC chairman Richard Sharp resign.

But what went on in the insurance sector?

The week began with contributor Jon Guy exploring how the industry was pushing companies to recognise the environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact on D&O risks.

Following this, reporter Chantal Kapani sat down with industry experts to talk about the controversial issue of an ‘ethnicity penalty’ in car insurance premiums after Citizens Advice revealed that POC were paying more for car insurance than their white counterparts.

Then, reporter Isobel Rafferty asked industry leaders what emerging risks insurance firms should watch out for in 2023.

Later in the week, deputy news editor James Cowen investigated how software platforms and considerations over data can impact the merger and acquisitions process for brokers.

And to round off the week, reporter Chantal Kapani asked industry leaders how the insurance sector can better support eTrading this year.
