Former AIG underwriter to oversee PI and D&O books

Novae has appointed Jonathan Morgan unit head of its regional financial lines division in the UK and Ireland.

He joins Novae from AIG, where he worked for three and a half years as its South East financial lines underwriter, and prior to this he worked for Gerling (before it was taken over by Sagicor) underwriting professional and financial classes of business.

He has also worked for Zurich Financial Services, in Switzerland, as professional indemnity manager for one of its global speciality divisions.

Morgan said: "Novae Insurance has earned a great reputation in the market since its inception last year and I relish this opportunity to drive the business forward to the next level in its development."

Bill Edrich, underwriting director of Novae Insurance, said: "Jonathan is a highly respected underwriter in the market and we are very pleased he has decided to join Novae.

"This is yet another example of Novae attracting talented people with proven track records, who can complement the innovative and dynamic underwriting approach that Novae adopts."

Novae Insurance's financial lines business currently includes professional indemnity, directors' and officers' liability and financial institutions insurance.
