Former AXA boss joins law firm

Law firm Keoghs has appointed Peter Hubbard as non-executive director.

Hubbard brings more than 20 years of international business experience to the role and he is a director of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

He joined AXA as chief executive in 2001 and implemented a series of restructuring measures as well as securing the Swiftcover acquisition. Under his leadership, in 2006 AXA was generating an after tax profit of £150m.

John Whittle, chief executive of Keoghs said: “We are delighted that Peter is joining us as non-executive director – we have enjoyed steady growth in recent years, and we’re now keen to appoint an exceptional business leader to help strengthen this growth.

“Peter brings a wealth of experience both in the insurance industry and in the large, corporate environment – his strategic guidance and network of contacts within the insurance sector will be a great benefit to Keoghs.”

Peter Hubbard said: “Keoghs is a fast growing business that clearly understands its position in the market as well as the many opportunities allowing it to flourish over the coming years.

“This will demand continuous change and adjustment to ensure it is best placed to meet the challenges, particularly in the current climate.”
