Three-year software investment sealed

Primary Broker Services and Rural Insurance Group, both part of Primary Group, have announced a £1m deal with Sirius Financial Systems to supply its underwriting software.

Primary's investment will be spread over three years. The technology will provide Rural Insurance Group and Primary Broker Services with a complete underwriting administration and accounting system, including claims, document management and a web-enabled front end to enhance service to brokers.

Primary Broker Services managing director Jonathan Davey said: "As a young and progressive company, it is vital to our business that the systems we implement are the very best available on the market, use the latest technologies and are able to be flexible and adapt as our business grows."

Primary Broker Services was formed in 2001 to supply commercial insurance products through intermediaries and underwriters on behalf of Primary Insurance Company.

Harrogate-based Rural Insurance Group specialises in the farming and associated industries. It manages the underwriting, sales and administration of agricultural insurance products including commercial/property, livestock, PA, and specialist motor.

Sirius' solutions division sales director Brian Morgan said: "We are delighted that Primary Group has chosen Sirius for Underwriting to meet their current and future business needs in a further two of their business units. Process control, better management information, a reduction in cost of ownership and self-sufficiency are all areas where we can demonstrate Sirius for Underwriting's strengths."

Two weeks ago, UK systems chief executive Mike Dodd told Insurance Times that it would announce two major deals with brokers in the coming weeks.
