Simon Hodgin to oversee development of northern regions

Sterling - Simon Hodgin

Sterling Insurance has appointed Simon Hodgin as divisional manager for the northern regions.

Hodgin will oversee the development of Sterling’s Manchester branch and northern regions including Scotland and the North East. Sterling opened its Manchester branch last year in a bid to increase its presence in the north, describing Manchester as the “gateway to the northern market”.

Hodgin joins Sterling from AXA commercial lines and personal intermediary and was formerly president of the Insurance Institute of Manchester.

Sterling Insurance head of personal and commercial insurance David Sweeney said: “Simon is a fantastic personality and I am sure he will make a great impact with our northern brokers.”

“We remain committed to expanding our geographical footprint regionally and feel that Simon’s appointment demonstrates our desire to work more closely with our brokers and to build meaningful relationships,” he added.

Hodgin said: “Sterling Insurance enjoys a quality reputation within the industry and I am excited to join an organisation that is always looking for ways to improve the products and services that it delivers to its brokers and their clients. I want to develop this reputation further and look forward to meeting Sterling’s broker partners in the northern region and seeing how we can work more closely together in the future.”
