The hearing of the DTI's case against The Accident Group's founder Mark Langford has been postponed.

Langford and his wife Deborah were due to face a summary judgement today brought against them by the DTI.

The Accident Group was put into administration in 2003, and sacked 2,400 workers by text message. In April 2002 the company earned second place in The Sunday Times league table of the country's fastest-growing most-profitable firms.

Manchester law firm Cobbetts is representing the DTI.

A future hearing date for the summary judgement has not yet been set.
