With the elelction in full swing, it is reassuring to know that all 659 members of parliament are covered by a range of insurance products.

Each has travel, personal accident, public liability and legal expenses insurance.

The latter may come in handy for deputy prime minister John Prescott.

The burly farmer, who pelted Prescott with an egg while he was on campaign trail in north Wales last week, is threatening to sue him over the incident.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
