CGU directors have seized the majority of appointments to the proposed board of CGNU, but Norwich Union directors will mostly be in charge of UK insurance business.

The proposed board and directors' current designations are as follows:

- Chairman Pehr Gyllenhammar (CGU chairman)
- Deputy chairman George Paul (NU chairman)
- Group chief executive Bob Scott (CGU group chief executive)
- Deputy group chief executive Richard Harvey (NU chief executive)
- Group finance director Peter Foster (CGU finance director)
- Group executive director UK life Philip Scott (NU general manager life)
- Group executive director UK general insurance Mike Biggs (NU group finance director)
- Group executive director asset management, strategy and international business Philip Twyman (CGU group executive UK life)
- Group executive director continental Europe Tony Wyand (CGU continental Europe)


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
