New group marketing director has insurance background

Towergate has raided Lloyds Banking Group to appoint Lindsay Forster as group marketing director.

At Lloyds, Forster was most recently products and marketing director for the commercial bank and previously was general insurance products and marketing director.

Prior to Lloyds, she worked in senior marketing roles at Norwich Union (Aviva), RAC and in the motor industry.

She will join the Towergate executive committee, reporting to group chief executive Mark Hodges.

Hodges said: “I am delighted that Lindsay has agreed to join us in a role which will enable us to focus on our strategy to grow in the SME and specialist personal lines markets.

“Towergate has a unique business model. Our broking and underwriting divisions, working alongside each other, provide us with unparalleled insight into customers needs in the UK market. This insight will play a central role in the further development of our group marketing strategy.”

He added: “Lindsay will work closely with each of our divisions to help maximise the real opportunities we have to increase brand and product awareness and to capitalise on relationships with more than 3 million insurance buying customers.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
