Whittington Group, the insurance investor and services provider, has strengthened its focus on acquisition and investment with the appointment of Ross Bundey as Group General Counsel.

Bundey, formerly a senior lawyer at Clifford Chance, will take overall responsibility for all legal matters, corporate secretarial work and worldwide regulatory compliance.

He will also take a leading role in acquisition and investment activity, an area which he has extensive background in, particularly in corporate mergers and acquisitions work across the Asia, Middle East and Australia regions as well as a track record of advising in the private equity sector.

Tony Hobrow, Whittington Group chief executive officer, said: “His appointment underlines our commitment to Singapore as our headquarters and to our growth strategy in the Asia Pacific and European regions in general. One of his key skills sets is in mergers and acquisitions work which further reinforces our stated ambitions in that area.

Bundey will join the Whittington Group, at its Singapore Headquarters, in March 2007.
