Zurich Financial Services has struck a deal with giant brokers Marsh to enable the latter to run-off its motor trade book under preferable conditions.

The broker's account will not be put into run-off until July 1. The move follows Zurich's sudden decision to quit the motor trade market in January this year.

A Zurich spokeswoman claimed an agreement had been in place from the beginning of its work with Marsh. Zurich currently deploys its own staff in some Marsh offices working exclusively on the motor trade account.
