Max Carruthers, operations director at Towergate Partnership, left the company in the last few weeks, insurancetimes.co.uk can reveal.

A Towergate spokeswoman confirmed the departure and said no direct replacement would be appointed.

Carruthers' information officer responsibilities were taken over by new chief information officer Mike Newman in 2010. His other responsibilities, which were working on operations and projects, will be handed to other members of Towergate's esxecutive team, the spokeswoman said.

“We thank him for everything he did at Towergate and wish him well,” she added.

Carruthers stepped in to run Towergate-owned trading platform PowerPlace following the departure of chief executive Matthew Reed in February this year. Simon Ball took over as new chief executive in June.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
