FCA director of general insurance and protection Simon Green is leaving the regulator.

In a letter seen by Insurance Times, Green said he is leaving towards the end of December 2016 and will have a period of leave when he will think about what to do next.

Green added: “I will continue to work closely with executive director of supervision Jonathan Davidson and my leadership team and remain fully committed to providing effective leadership until the point of my departure.

“It has been a privilege to work with key stakeholders, as well as to play a small part in working to achieve positive outcomes for customers and markets alike.”

He further added that the FCA had already started to look for his successor.

FCA declined to comment.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
