Alan Kirkwood to run broker’s Glasgow branch
Giles Insurance Brokers has hired ex-NIG executive Alan Kirkwood (pictured) as branch director of its Glasgow business.
Kirkwood led NIG’s Scotland operation for most of his 17-year stint at the broker-only insurer.
NIG is part of Direct Line Group.
Giles regional managing director Alan McEwan said: “I have known Alan for most of our careers and I am excited to have the opportunity to work together. His credentials are outstanding – he is a strong leader, has great sales and people skills, and is hugely respected in the market, so I am confident Alan will make a significant contribution to our great team in Glasgow.”
Kirkwood added: “I’m really excited to be joining Giles at a time when the new management team is clearly transforming the business and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to be part of it.”
