Skeleton crew remains as business set to close

Exit, sign, leave, quit, resign

Merlin Claims has made 200 staff redundant after falling into administration this week.

The loss adjuster will keep a skeleton crew of around 50 staff to hand over its workload before administrators BDO wind the business down.

In a statement, BDO business restructuring partner Mark Shaw said: “Regrettably, having assessed the position, it is clear that the only practicable option is an orderly handover of client work, followed by an early closedown of the business.

“This has today resulted in 200 positions being made redundant with immediate effect across the country.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
