Report tips broker for new £20m a year deal
Aon is set to replace AIG as Manchester United’s new shirt sponsors in a £20m a year deal, according to reports.
The Mirror said that the company name could appear on the Premier League champions kit as early as next season if current sponsors AIG are forced by the American government to scrap its four-year agreement with the club.
The newspaper said Aon has been in talks with United since it was announced that US insurer AIG would not be extending their agreement with the club when it expires at the end of next season.
"Talks have gone well and it's 90 per cent certain that Aon will be United's new shirt sponsor. Whether it happens next season or the year after is yet to be decided," said an insider quoted in the report.
