Departure

Reports suggest that Willis chief executive Joe Plumeri will leave when his contract ends on 7 July 2013. Not commenting directly on whether Plumeri will step down, a spokesman said: “Joe is totally focused on running the company and serving its shareholders, and will continue to do so through the term of his current contract.”

Change

RBSI is changing the name of its affinity division to Brand Partners from RBS Insurance Partnerships. The change is part of RBSI’s group rebranding to Direct Line Insurance Group.

Win

Oil and gas services firm Petrofac has appointed Aon as its insurance broker and risk management consultant. Aon brought together
a combined team from several of its specialist business areas to meet Petrofac’s needs.

U-turn

Bernard Barrère’s directorships at Covea’s UK insurance operations have been terminated only months after he was appointed. Barrère was a director at MMA Holdings UK, MMA Insurance, Provident, Swinton (Holdings) and Swinton Group. Covea is merging MMA Insurance and Provident.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
