It’s a week of roundtables and talk about the eurozone crisis and Solvency II - but I manage to squeeze my fair share of fine dining in too

Wednesday

I escape the City of London demonstration for the calmer environs of St Katharine Docks, to chair an Insurance Times roundtable on the industry’s recruitment headaches.

Thursday

Over a juicy steak at lunch, I chew the fat and industry issues with RSA personal lines broker MD Steve Kingshott. In the evening, the Aviva GI and IT top tables convene for a stimulating exchange.

Friday

Lunch with new ABI prudential policy director Hugh Savill, where we discuss the future of Solvency II.

Monday

The eurozone crisis hits home for the industry as AXA eyes up troubled mutual Groupama’s assets. Where will it all end?

Tuesday

At Marsh to hear the lowdown on ‘Project Noah’  - the global broker’s bid to set up an insurance fund of last resort for flood hit areas. It’s a solution that’s likely to appeal to a cash-strapped government.
