Thamesbank using Open GI platform

Thamesbank Insurance Services have signed a five year deal with software house Open GI which will double the broker’s IT capacity.

Thamesbank currently writes in excess of £15m of premium income and operates two online brands, the Home Insurer and Quote Your Home.

The contract includes the Open GI core trading system and newly launched products Open Document Centre and Open Workflow Manager which are designed to automate printing and post quote processes.

The deal with Open GI offers support for up to 64 users. The increased investment in IT is a result of the significant growth Thamesbank have experienced through difficult trading conditions in the retail market.

Paul Barnard, Thamesbank’s managing director, said: “The business has enjoyed a strong performance in 2009 and we intend to keep this momentum going throughout 2010. By choosing Open GI we have the confidence to set ourselves some ambitious objectives. Open GI’s track record in streamlining IT processes and developing cutting edge software suits the demands of both high street and online markets. The new deal will allow us to grow our user base, freeing any restrictions in our IT capabilities.”

Chris Guillaume, managing director, Open GI, said: “We are delighted that Thamesbank has chosen to partner with Open GI. 2009 was a difficult year for many brokers which has put pressure on those looking to negotiate long term deals with suppliers. At Open GI we’re thankful that we are in a position to offer brokers a wealth of experience and the backing of strong financial investment in research and development. Both of these factors are essential to ensure brokers continue to prosper in an increasingly difficult market.”
