Jason Potter to drive e-trading developments, particularly across Open Trader

Open GI has appointed Jason Potter to the role of head of insurer relations.

Potter will drive e-trading developments for personal and commercial lines, particularly across Open Trader.

Jason was previously Commercial Lines E-Business & Strategy Manager for one of the UK’s leading insurers, Allianz, managing a £1.2m budget and implementing system solutions for broker partners via software houses and imarket.

Whilst heading up a department in the commercial lines division, he was appointed as a representative on the imarket steering group and global Allianz working group.

During his 20 plus years at Allianz, Jason has held a number of different roles from Senior Business Developer to Sales Management Consultant – gaining significant experience developing key broking customers and the company’s e-trading strategy.

As head of insurer relations at Open GI, one of Jason’s key tasks is to expand the range of providers on the Open Trader platform – now a market leading full cycle offering for SME business.

This is alongside securing new insurer products, both open market and broker specific and growing the current portfolio which already stands at 1,000 - more than any other software house.

Commenting on his appointment, Potter, said: “Open GI is a strong, well respected brand, renowned for technical delivery and the development of Open Trader only enhances this. The solution has been built with commercial lines trading at the core, offering all the benefits of integrated full cycle trading - something which many other solutions don’t currently offer.

“The market needs a strong and functionally advanced software house to lead the way with commercial electronic trading and I am confident that Open GI is equipped to do just that.”

David Kelly, business development director, Open GI, said: “With 2010 set to be the commercial e-trading boom, we are confident that Open GI can excel above the other offerings in the market. Jason’s knowledge of insurer product distribution, strategic broker partnerships and software house delivery is ideal for Open GI and the advancement of Open Trader.”
