History: Towergate Stafford Knight is a consolidation of Stafford Knight and Byas Mosely (UK). Stafford Knight was established in 1917 and became a well known and respected Lloyd's brokerage. A specialist in markets such as entertainment, agency, PA and travel, Stafford Knight was acquired by Towergate Underwriting Group in June 2000.

Founded in 1862, Byas Mosely was the oldest independent firm of Lloyd's brokers. The UK division was acquired by Towergate in April 1999 and continues to specialise in commercial schemes, affinities and corporate partnerships. Towergate Stafford Knight is committed to strengthening its long-term partnerships, having provided specialist solutions for retail and trade associations and their members for over 35 years. The company also operates specialist schemes for the photographic and multi-media industry.

Chief officer: Kenny Maciver

Biography: Maciver is a chartered accountant and a chartered insurer. He has 19 years' experience in the insurance industry, having initially worked in Bermuda with Mutual Risk Management. Thereafter he was director of finance with the Continental Insurance Company, responsible for the direct insurance operations throughout Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining the Towergate Underwriting Group, he was managing director of Lombard General and GAN.
He is currently managing director of Towergate Stafford Knight and chairman of the commercial division of Towergate Underwriting Group.
