History: HLF Group plc, was formed in December 1999 by the merger of the Lambert Fenchurch and Heath Groups. Both businesses had long histories as insurance brokers, being established in 1840 and 1877, respectively.
Prior to the merger, both companies had grown through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
Both Lambert Fenchurch and Heath had a strong presence in the London Market.
Outside London, Lambert Fenchurch had a branch network throughout the UK and a number of overseas offices, predominantly in Europe, the Far East and Australasia.
Heath also had strong international coverage, particularly in Latin America and in Central and Eastern Europe.
The merger allowed the two brokers to consolidate their broking strengths and geographic coverage.
