Club Direct is offering a 10% discount on its backpacker travel insurance.
Its figures show that three times more backpacker policies were sold between January and May of this year than in the same period two years ago.
Specific backpacker policies are available for any length of time from two months to one year and yearly policies can be extended.
All policies include cover for sports and activities such as bungee jumping and white-water rafting as well as cover for working abroad.
