Two men with highly successful and lucrative careers in the broking community were at a dinner recently, Backchat understands.
One of the executives had a few too many drinks at the dinner and didn't want to drive home. He asked the other executive whether, as he was driving home near where the broker lived, a lift home was available.
Reluctantly, the other well-heeled broker agreed and they drove off together in his fancy car. After around an hour, the well-oiled broker asked the well-heeled broker whether he "wouldn't mind turning off at the next junction and drive him to his door".
But patience with this free-loading guest had run out. The well-heeled broker stopped the car with the words: "I thought you were a f***ing millionaire. Get out of my car."
The broker had to call his wife to pick him up from the roadside.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
