AM Best has affirmed the A+ (superior) financial strength rating of HSB Engineering Insurance Company (HSBEIL). The outlook remains stable.
It said the rating reflected HSBEIL's superior business position, operating performance and stand-alone risk-adjusted capitalisation.
AM Best also said it regarded HSBEIL as a core subsidiary of its parent, the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company.
The main offsetting factor for the rating was the company's limited diversification by business line, said the ratings agency.
