Legal services provider 'shows resilience' in 2009

Abbey Protection, a supplier of legal and professional fees insurance and services products, today said its results for the year ended 31 December 2009 will show an increase in profits in line with market expectations.

Group chief executive Colin Davison said: "This was particularly pleasing against the backdrop of an economy in recession, as it showed the resilience of the underlying business models.

"It also demonstrated the importance of applying strong risk management controls, particularly in mitigating its exposure to employment claims from its SME clients as unemployment levels have continued to rise."

Abbey Protection is set to announce its full results in March.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
