Revenue rise 8%

Legal expenses provider Abbey Protection reported first half pre-tax profits of £3.9m, up 13% compared to the same period last year.

The company said revenues had grown 8% to £14.5m in the six months to 30 June 2008.

Colin Davison, chief executive of Abbey Protection, said: “We are extremely pleased with another strong set of results which consolidates our market leading position in the UK SME sector. The business model continues to benefit from the non-cyclical nature of the legal and professional fees insurance market; and with our emphasis on risk management, we aim to continue to maximize shareholder value by providing long term, sustainable growth in these challenging economic times.”
