The Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the British Bankers' Association (BBA) have appointed KPMG as consultants for a study into a possible merger.
This is good news for auditor and management consultant KPMG which is embroiled in ongoing controversy surrounding Independent Insurance's collapse.
Two weeks ago the Creditors of Independent Insurance Group (CIIG) voted to launch a group litigation order (GLO) against KPMG, the FSA and actuaries Watson Wyatt.
KPMG will report to the governing bodies of the ABI and the BBA later this year.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
