ABI’s director of general insurance (GI) Nick Starling is leaving as part of a restructuring at the insurance trade association.

Also departing from the ABI executive team will be financial conduct regulation director Maggie Craig and life, savings and protection director Steve Gay.

ABI director general Otto Thoresen said the three departures from the executive team were among “a number” of staff that would be departing as part of the restructuring.

Thoresen said: “Today we are making some changes to the way the ABI works.

“Our new structure will enable us to deliver a more focused, effective service for our members, delivering the results that they want and expect of us.

“Today’s changes will make the ABI fit for the future and ensure we are well placed to support our members through these challenging times.”

Commenting on Starling, Craig and Gay’s departures, Thoresen said: “I want to thank them for their work and the significant contribution they have made.”
