Broker on the lookout for more acquisitions

Academy Insurance Services has completed the acquisition of Crown Insurance Consultants based in Egham, Surrey.

Academy Insurance managing director Kevin Munn said: “We are delighted with this acquisition as it further enhances Academy’s high street presence.

“We have acquired another experienced and successful team at Crown Insurance and I am sure that they will have no difficulty embracing our best advice/best friend approach ethos.”

Munn added that the broker is eyeing more acquisitions including purchasing existing books of business, particularly personal lines books from commercial brokers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
