Software house to provide technology to Irish Insurer.

Acturis has made its first deal outside the UK. The software house has been selected by Quinn Insurance to provide its IT platform for transacting commercial package insurance via broker and direct websites in both the UK & Ireland.

Insurance Times reported in October that Acturis, which had historically focused on the UK insurance sector, was looking to widen its net and had been gearing up for an international drive for some time.

Quinn is the second largest insurer in Ireland. In recent years it has expanded its business outside of Ireland and now provides insurance cover in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium. Quinn will offer a suite of products targeting the SME market from late 2008.

Theo Duchen, co-chief executive of Acturis, said: “It is a real privilege to have been selected as Quinn’s commercial lines platform of choice, they are Acturis’ first international partner, and importantly our first major deployment outside of the UK.

“They are also part of a growing number of insurers that are using the

e-commerce Acturis platform for underwriting, distribution and web development.

“With no legacy and a clear focus on supporting the UK and Irish broker and direct market, Quinn has tremendous potential for growth. We look forward to helping support Quinn in the future and developing a lasting and successful partnership.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
