Surrey firm covers aids for individuals with no time exclusion

Surrey-based international medical insurer InterGlobal is offering HIV/Aids cover for individuals from the moment they buy cover, the Telegraph reports.

For many years insurers refused all cover and more recently only offered it after four or five years of personal insurance.

Edward Daniels, business development manager in Africa for InterGlobal, said the pre-existing conditions were excluded. The policy recognises that customers in Africa had particular needs not catered for by traditional plans.

Stephen Walker, of Medical Insurance Services, in Brighton said: "It is what the industry should be doing – identifying a need and producing a benefit to cover it. Obviously, there are risks in Africa, but the company will have weighed these up and decided it is something they can take on board."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
