Confusion abounds over the after-the-event insurance arrangements for Aftersure Claims Management.

According to its website last week, its after-the-event (ATE) policies were underwritten by Europ Assistance, despite the contract between the two companies having ended "several months ago" according to a spokeswoman for the insurer.

Aftersure said it had had some discussions with Alliance Cornhill Legal Protection to become its new ATE provider, but nothing is yet in place.
