Aig Europe (UK) has launched Wake-up to Whistleblowing, a guide offering managers advice on how to promote a positive whistleblowing culture. The guide was written by Public Concern at Work (PCaW) and will be promoted to AIG Europe's Corporate Guard clients and free to human resource managers and risk managers.

The guide outlines the evolution of the whistleblowing approach, an advice section on the Public Information Disclosure Act, and discounted rates with the UK provider of whistleblowing helpline services.

AIG warns that failure to provide adequate protection for responsible whistleblowers could leave companies exposed to expensive claims.

Chris Townsend of AIG Europe said: "We have worldwide expertise in handling employment practice claims, and whistleblowing is exactly the kind of issue that companies need to get on top of, to prevent claims being made in the first place."
