Insurer forms new construction team account

Allianz Engineering has strengthened its construction capabilities with a new construction account team and the appointment of five underwriting specialists, based around the UK.

As part of its strategy to bolster its regional presence, the underwriters will be based in Manchester, London and Birmingham and will work in conjunction with the engineering business development teams.

Commenting on the appointments, Martin Ball, underwriting and operations manager, Allianz Engineering said: "Construction is our fastest growing account emanating from business placed in both the London and regional markets. We have responded by strengthening our underwriting expertise in both areas including moving our account management function to Manchester. Our new underwriters will support our regional development teams in giving brokers access to local decision makers without the need for referral to head office."
