Allianz Cornhill and Bradstock Insurance Brokers are targeting wheelchair and scooter users with a range of insurance products designed to help keep the disabled mobile.

The Advance range of products can be tailored to protect mobility vehicle users and offers an extensive choice of covers, including comprehensive "all risks" and breakdown.

"Disabled people now represent one in ten of the UK population and many are completely reliant on mobility vehicles to carry on with their daily lives," said John Sams, business developer.

"Occasionally things can go wrong, such as theft or an accident, and this is where Advance can help by providing assistance when it is needed most."

The range offers three levels of cover
- Advanced Gold, comprehensive cover for powered wheelchairs and scooters.
- Advance Manual, comprehensive cover for manual wheelchairs.
- Advance Warranty, comprehensive cover plus breakdown for powered wheelchairs and scooters.

A manual wheelchair can be covered for as little as £20 per year, and premium for powered mobility vehicles start at £39.50.

Comprehensive cover including breakdowns costs from £105.

All premiums include insurance premium tax.

"Wheelchairs and scooters form an essential part of the lives of many people with mobility needs, so we have developed a flexible range of covers to match," said Phil Brunton, mobility manager Bradstock.

"All of the Advance products are available at a fixed price and are backed by our promise that if a claim occurs, it will be dealt with promptly and sympathetically."
