Partnership expected to generate £1.8m in first year

Allianz Commercial has secured a three-year deal with Towergate Northampton as sole provider for a number of affinity schemes within the broker’s SME book of business.

The partnership, which is expected to generate £1.8m in gross written premiums in the first year, will see the insurer underwrite risks within their small business product range. The arrangement will take effect from February 1, 2009.

Jason Howes, small business development manager, Allianz Commercial, said: “We are delighted that Towergate have selected us as the company able to provide them with the range of products and levels of service they require.

"This is a great achievement and demonstrates the strength of our small business proposition and our desire to be the most successful competitor in this market.”

Julie Walker, managing director, Towergate Northampton, added: "Having conducted a tender process, Allianz Commercial was clearly the company that stood out as understanding our overall objectives and had a strategy for small business aligned to ours. This development ensures we are able to provide our clients with the best possible service.”
