Claims director Dye to head Allianz Retail

Allianz Insurance is restructuring its operation to create a new trading division focusing exclusively on the insurance needs of individual customers.

Allianz Personal and Allianz Speciality Divisions will come together to form Allianz Retail. The new division will be led by Jon Dye, previously Director, Claims at Allianz.

Allianz Retail will incorporate personal lines business, both broker and Direct, as well as the market leading Pet Plan operation, Schemes business and Legal Protection. Allianz Retail will write in excess of £600m GWP in 2007.

Allianz Insurance CEO, Andrew Torrance said: “Allianz Retail will provide us with the platform to leverage the capabilities and resources we possess within the business to serve our individual customers to best effect from within a single operation. Our aim is to grow our personal business substantially and Allianz Retail will provide the most effective platform from which to achieve this.”

He added: “I know that Jon will bring the same energy, talent and success to this role that he has already displayed in his four years at Allianz.”

Allianz Retail’s General Manager, Jon Dye said: “Retail insurance is central to Allianz’s aspirations in the UK market. This change will enable us to share ideas, best practice and know-how which had previously been held in different business units. The objective is to make our retail business greater than the sum of its individual parts. We have extremely capable people within our business and together we will make this new structure a real force in the personal market space.”
