Insurer joins group of 27 chartered insurers in the UK

Allianz Retail has become the first specialist retail division in the UK to be awarded chartered Insurer status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

It joins 26 other insurers that have gained chartered status in the UK, and is one of the first in personal lines to achieve the accreditation.

The CII said they awarded Allianz chartered status because of its ethical conduct, expertise and “strong commitment to developing its employees” through ongoing training.

Allianz Retail general manager Neil Brettell said being awarded chartered status was a great honour.

“We are delighted that our retail business has been recognised for its excellent ethical, professional and technical standards,” he said.

“As we continue to take major steps towards driving profitable growth and increasing brand recognition, we remain committed to keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do. This achievement reflects our ongoing investment in the professional development of our people, in order to provide the highest levels of customer service possible.”

CII chief executive Dr Sandy Scott said he was delighted to welcome Allianz Retail into the expanding group of chartered insurers.

“[They] can be rightly proud of having embraced the challenge of professionalism,” he said.

Research by JP Morgan indicates that becoming a chartered insurer increases a firms’ credibility, improves perception and generally enhances the view of the company within customers’ eyes.
