AMG has acquired Sigma Claims Solutions, the company's first acquisition since the management-buy-out in October 2005.

Sigma will operate as an independent subsidiary and separate brand within AMG, diversifying the range of specialist liability adjusting services available via the Group.

Kevin Wood, group managing director said: "This move further consolidates our position as a top four adjuster. The current benign claims environment means times will be tough for those unable to offer a comprehensive range of specialist services. This makes it an excellent time for AMG to expand and further compliment our proven business model.

"This acquisition enables us to offer clients and the industry, additional specialist services as part of our flexible yet integrated claims management solution."

Owen Gorman, director of sigma said: "As part of AMG, we will be able to offer clients access to the added value represented by the group's infrastructure and diverse range of supply chain businesses. Access to new markets and the financial stability afforded by the Group means we can accelerate our growth plans. We are looking forward to working with the management team at AMG to further develop the potential in the business.”

Simon Burley, a founding director of Sigma, will represent the company on AMG's main board and will take group wide responsibility for new business development and client relationship management.
