Simon Clarke to head up Anlin Singapore from 2010

Amlin has appointed Simon Clarke as managing director and principal officer of Amlin Singapore with effect from 1st January 2010, subject to regulatory approval.

He replaces Chris Beazley who, having set up Amlin Singapore two years ago, returns to Amlin London to assist head of marine Andrew Wright with the underwriting management of the marine business unit.

Simon Clarke’s 29 year industry career began as a non-marine property underwriter with Syndicate 506 at Lloyds’ but in 1994, he moved to broking, setting up Sedgwick’s placement division in Singapore.

Following Sedgwick’s acquisition by Marsh, Simon became CEO Asia Pacific, Facultative, of Marsh’s reinsurance business, Guy Carpenter, where he was responsible for 70 staff and offices in six Asia Pacific centres.

Latterly Simon was CEO of Marsh global markets Asia and sat on the Marsh Asia Executive Committee with overall responsibility for placement.
