Former Dickson Manchester boss sets up MGA specialising in PI

Charles Manchester, former chief executive of Dickson Manchester, has secured capacity from Amlin to form a new managing general agency (MGA), called Manchester Underwriting Management Limited.

Manchester, who was chief executive of HCC International Insurance Co and active underwriter of HCC’s Lloyd’s syndicates 4040 & 4141 until a year ago, will team up with ex-colleague Richard Webb.

Webb has just resigned from HCC where he was head of marketing and broker development.

Michael Cant, previously director at Saturn Professional Risks, has also joined the MGA along with a team of six professional indemnity specialists from RSA.

Amlin has taken a 25% stake in Manchester Underwriting Mangement, which specialises in PI.

Manchester sold his business Dickson Manchester to HCC in 2003.
