Aon appoints new regional chief for Middle East and North Africa

Aon Benfield has announced the appointment of former Willis Re regional director Ahmed Rajab as chief executive of the Middle East and North Africa region.

Rajab, who has 15 years experience in the reinsurance industry, will report to Aon Benfield’s co-chief executives of EMEA, Richard Posgate and Alan Gregory.

Serving most recently as regional director of the Middle East and North Africa at Willis Re, Rajab previously worked as a Middle East treaty underwriter at reinsurer SOREMA, which was acquired by reinsurer SCOR in 2001, and as a broker at intermediary Gras Savoye Re in Paris, then Willis Re, since 2002.

He graduated in business administration at the American University of Paris, and holds a diploma from the Institut Superieur de Reassurance.
