Arc in marine legal expenses launch

Legal expenses provider Arc Legal Assistance has launched a dedicated yachting and marine pleasure craft legal expenses cover and claims service.

The company will target growth with an enhanced product and panel of maritime law firms to handle claims.

The Marine Legal Expenses product is to offer benefits including cover over a wider cruising range, repatriation and mechanical breakdown cover and a 365 day technical helpline manned by marine technical experts.

The claims service will be run by a legal panel comprising LA Marine for Lester Aldridge Solicitors LLP, Ashfords and Hill Dickinson.

Director Richard Finan said: “We see a clear opportunity to provide a market-leading product backed by a responsive and targeted claims service that ensures marine experts are used to handle the sometimes complex nature of claims in this area. We have demonstrated in other sectors how we can deliver niche products to customer groups with very specific ‘non-standard’ needs ”

The first two brokers to appoint Arc Legal as marine legal expenses provider are Heath Lambert and Topsail Insurance.

Finan added: “These two contract wins confirm our intention to build a strong position in the marine sector based on a competitive product which enables brokers to offer a comprehensive and expert solution to their clients.”
