Legal expenses provider launches personal service

Arc Legal Assistance has launched a personal debt counselling service as an enhancement to its non motor personal legal expenses product portfolio.

Arc Legal will offer a confidential, 24 hour full debt counselling advice service on a range of financial issues for policyholders, at no additional cost. The advice service is operated by fully trained independent counsellors and will offer both practical and emotional support, advice and help.

This new service is in response to consumer concerns about financial problems, including mortgage repayments and debt issues relating to divorce in the current economic climate.

Alongside mortgage and debt issues around separation and divorce, Care First, a leading employee assistance services provider who Arc Legal has partnered with to offer this service, is handling increasing numbers of calls relating to personal debt repayment planning, harassment from creditors, and bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangement insolvency issues.

Frank O’Malley, director, Arc Legal, said: “The impact of the economic crisis continues to cause consumers major concerns about a range of debt and personal finance issues. Providing easy access to a confidential debt counselling service is an extremely effective way for our partners to offer their customers practical support and help in difficult times.”

Heath Lambert is the first broker to offer the Arc Legal Debt Counselling Service to its customers.
